Arts Building Facility Access

Protocols for essential business on campus:

PRELIMINARY ACTIONS (one time only)

Prerequisites to complete days before going to campus:

  1. Complete the online COVID-19 Risk Mitigation Presentation.
  2. Complete the online training course, COVID-19 Returning to Work Training (required by Cal/OSHA and the CA Department of Public Health).
  3. Get a flu shot and confirm compliance through the UCSB SHS Gateway.
  4. Request a department-specific Worksite Specific Safety Plan (WSSP) form from Juliana Bruno (jbruno@ucsb.edu), and read, sign, and return by email to confirm that all prerequisites and training have been completed.
  5. When scheduling a reservation, make sure to read all protocols on this page.
ACTIONS TEN DAYS BEFORE VISIT

Building facilities and offices will be reserved on a weekly basis ONLY, with available reservation times shared with faculty, students, and staff ten (10) days prior. To reserve a space and time:

  1. Fill out the Arts Building Access Compliance Form.
  2. Schedule a time with the Department of Art (ART), History of Art & Architecture (HAA), the Art, Design & Architecture Museum (AD&AM), and/or the College of Engineering Machine Shop (COE) using the following forms:
  • FOR ART ONLY: To schedule time in a lab, please use this form.
    • Scheduling will be in 3-hour blocks, M-F from 8am – 4pm when slots are open. Labs are closed between 12-1pm
    • Sign up for a max total of 6 (3-hour) blocks each week for studio and shops
    • Sign up by 9am Monday, prior to the week requested
    • Notification of confirmed schedule, via Google calendar invite, will be emailed to you on or before 5pm on the Wednesday of the week prior
    • Harder access rules will be set by the supervisor for prompt and timely open and closure of building (i.e., grads will need to show up on time for access; the building will be locked at 5pm, no one can occupy the space from 12-1, the required airing time period)
  • FOR HAA ONLY: To schedule time in IRC facilities and/or a personal office, please use this form.
    • Sign up by 9am Monday, one week prior to the week requested
    • Notification of confirmed schedule, via Google calendar invite, will be emailed to you on or before 5pm on the Wednesday of the week prior
  • FOR COE ONLY: To schedule time in the College of Engineering Machine Shop, please contact Sean Linley, sean_linley@ucsb.edu.
ACTIONS DAY OF CAMPUS VISIT

Right before going to campus:

  1. Enroll in the daily COVID-19 symptom check. Save the email that you receive saying that you are clear to go.
  2. Send an email to the cluster with the time, location(s) and purpose of your visit to alert other on-site cluster members: aascstaff@hfa.ucsb.edu. NOTE: This is not necessary when visiting Harder Stadium studios.
